Pizza on the Grill

Fridays for us means PIZZA for dinner, and Summers are for cooking on the grill. So put'em both together and you get GRILLED PIZZA. If you haven't tried it you need to! It's delicious! I make my own basic pizza dough and roll it out so that everyone has their own individual pizza to make. I use a canned pizza sauce that is really good (DEI FRATELLI) and have a variety of toppings. Some toppings that are a must for our family include- sage sausage, black olives, pineapple, tomatoes, and my favorite, green pepper and onions.
After you've rolled out your dough make sure both sides are floured good and use Non-stick aluminum foil. Cook one side on LOW temp. till lightly cooked and will look slightly golden brown.
You then take it off the grill and make your pizza on the cooked side. Then you put it back on the grill to finish cooking. Your non-cooked side will then be on the bottom.

Doesn't it look good?

I think I need to go and heat me up some leftovers now! ;)
Happy Pizza Friday!

I Spy

This is a game the girls and I play everyday sitting on the front porch waiting for Josh's school bus. We'll go out at least a half hour before and wait. It's such a sweet, quiet time.

I spy something with my little eye, something the color YELLOW

something.... the color RED

and PINK

It's hard to believe that there is only one day to left to sit and wait for the school bus. Summer vacation is here! Whats even harder for me to imagine is that next year it will just be Hannah and myself waiting for the bus. Josh will be in 3rd grade and Rachel will be starting Kindergarten. It really is amazing how fast time flies. As crazy as I'm sure this summer might get, I plan to take time to simply swing on the front porch with my 3 kids, eat lots of Popsicles and of course play I spy. :)

Pillowcase dresses

I was talking to my friend a couple weeks ago via facebook and she asked me if my girls had any pillowcase dresses. I had no idea what she was talking about. So she sent me an e-mail with a picture and I loved the idea. I simply googled "how to make a pillowcase dress" and watched a couple videos. I didn't have any pillowcases to spare and I couldn't find any sold separately, so I just went to walmart and let the girls pick out their own fabric. I added some trim to the bottom of the dresses with some leftovers I had. I've never made clothes before and I found these pretty simple to make. I think they are super cute and the girls LOVE them!

I've already started making ones for july 4th and I think I'll make matching hair bows as well :)
Happy Sewing!
